The meaning of the virtues of Qadar Night, Dr. Zubair Invites People to Maximize Worship on the Last 10 Nights of Ramadan

South Tangerang, FAH News Online – Qadar Night is one of the most special nights in the holy month of Ramadan which has extraordinary virtues for Muslims. On that night, the reward for worship performed has better value than a thousand months. This was conveyed by Dr. Zubair, M.Ag., in the Mutiara Ramadhan program (volume 2) which was broadcast by the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta on Thursday (12/03/26).

In his explanation, Dr. Zubair emphasized that the night of Qadar has been explained specifically in the Qur'an, especially in Surah Al-Qadr. In this surah, Allah SWT explains that the Qur'an was revealed on the night of glory which is better than a thousand months.

“Lailatul Qadar is a night more glorious and better than a thousand months,” explained Dr. Zubair in the study.

He also added that on that night the angels came down to earth bringing various decrees from Allah SWT until dawn. This shows that the night of Qadar is a night filled with safety, peace and blessings for mankind.

Apart from Surah Al-Qadr, Dr. Zubair also explained that the night of Qadar is also mentioned in Surah Ad-Dukhan verses 1 to 6 as a blessed night. In this verse it is explained that on that night Allah SWT determined various matters with full wisdom.

He highlighted that there are three important keywords that describe the nature of the night of Qadar, namely greetings (peace), mubarokah (blessings), and mercy (compassion).

“The mission of the revelation of the Qur'an and the sending of the Prophet Muhammad was to bring mercy to all nature,” he said, referring to the words of Allah SWT wa maa arsalnaaka illa rahmatan lil ‘alamin.

According to him, the main aim of the revelation of the Qur'an and the sending of the Prophet Muhammad SAW was to bring peace, tranquility and harmony to all mankind.

Furthermore, Dr. Zubair explained that Rasulullah SAW gave a signal that the night of Qadar was on odd nights in the last ten days of Ramadan, such as the 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th nights.

However, he also highlighted that there are differences in determining the start of Ramadan that can affect the calculation of odd nights. According to him, these differences actually have wisdom so that Muslims can maximize their worship throughout the last ten nights of Ramadan.

“The difference in the determination of the beginning of Ramadan allows us to make full use of the last ten nights in pursuing that night of glory,” he said.

At the end of his study, Dr. Zubair invites Muslims not only to pursue the rewards of the Qadar night, but also to use this momentum as a means to strengthen spiritual closeness to Allah SWT.

He emphasized the importance of increasing worship such as qiyamul lail, reading the Koran, doing dhikr, and performing I'tikaf in mosques on the last ten nights of Ramadan.

“Only by being close to and loving Allah can one find true peace, tranquility and happiness in one's life,” he said.

Through the momentum of Ramadan, especially in the last ten nights, Muslims are expected to be able to strengthen their spiritual relationship with Allah while cultivating an attitude of affection for fellow humans as a manifestation of Islamic teachings which are rahmatan lil ‘alamin.
