The Importance of Maintaining Post-Ramadan Worship Istikamah

South Tangerang, FAH News Online - At the end of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijriah, Muslims are reminded not to just make worship a seasonal routine that just stops when Eid al-Fitr arrives. Thursday, (12/03/2026), Prof. Dr. Didin Saepudin, MA, in the Mutiara Ramadan program broadcast via the FAH UIN Jakarta YouTube channel, emphasized the importance of maintaining consistency of worship after Ramadan. He opened his tausiyah with a wise quote that small steps taken consistently will take someone further than a big plan that was not realized, which is very relevant to the hadith of the Prophet SAW regarding the deeds that Allah loves most are practices that are carried out continuously, even if little.

One of the main focuses conveyed is regarding the servant's interaction with the Koran, where enthusiasm for reading and studying the holy books during Ramadan should continue to be maintained because each letter is worth ten good deeds. Prof. Didin also invited the congregation to preserve sunnah prayers such as Qabliyah, Ba'diyah, Duha, and even evening prayers or tahajjud as a complement to the obligatory worship. He likened the fardu prayer as the main capital, while the sunnah prayer was an advantage that provided extraordinary added value in the sight of Allah, especially the tahajjud prayer which was able to educate a Muslim's sincerity because of the secret nature of his worship in the midst of the silence of the night.

Furthermore, the generosity that is characteristic during the holy month is also expected to transform into a sustainable lifestyle or philanthropic lifestyle. Based on Surah Ali Imran verse 134, pious people are those who still like to donate and share both in spacious and narrow conditions. By maintaining the habit of reading the Koran, maintaining evening prayers, and regularly giving alms outside the month of Ramadan, a Muslim can prove the quality of his piety in real terms. In closing, Prof. Didin advised that these noble values should live throughout the year as a stronghold against all temptations that can diminish faith.
