South Tangerang, FAH Online News – The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a Faculty Meeting for the Odd Semester of the 2026/2027 Academic Year as part of its efforts to evaluate and strengthen the quality of education within the faculty. The meeting took place at the FAH 5th Floor Theater Room on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

In his remarks, the Dean of FAH UIN Jakarta stated that, in general, the teaching and learning process had been running well, based on students’ perceptions as reflected in the Student Evaluation of Lecturers (E-DOM). The average lecturer evaluation score was above 3. However, several aspects still require attention and further evaluation, particularly regarding the delivery of Semester Learning Plans (RPS) and teaching methods. The evaluation is expected to serve as a basis for improving the quality of the learning process in the following semester.

On the occasion, appreciation was also given to lecturers who achieved the highest E-DOM scores: M. Irfan Zamzami, Ph.D., Dr. Faizal Arifin, M.Hum., and Umi Kulsum, M.A. Meanwhile, the evaluation of lecturers with lower E-DOM scores forms part of the faculty’s continuous efforts to improve the quality of teaching and learning.

In addition to discussing learning evaluation, the meeting also highlighted several developments in FAH’s facilities and institutional capacity. The faculty now has three buildings: the Main Building, Masjid Insaniyat, and the Kopertais Building. The Kopertais Building has officially become part of FAH and is currently undergoing renovations on its first and second floors, with renovations of the third floor targeted for completion in 2027. The building will eventually be dedicated to supporting master's and doctoral-level academic activities.

In the academic sector, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ida Farida, M.LIS., reported that the number of new FAH students for the current academic year reached 818, consisting of 799 undergraduate students and 19 postgraduate students. All FAH journals have also received accreditation. In addition, FAH is currently preparing a double degree program for the Master’s Program in Islamic History and Civilization (MSKI) in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, with financial support through the LPDP scholarship program.

FAH also continues to strengthen its international academic network through Visiting Professor and Research Fellow programs. A Research Fellows program involving scholars from IIUM is currently taking place from August 15 to 30, while Adjunct Professor Prof. Naushad Ali from Aligarh Muslim University is scheduled to visit on September 7, 2026. At the same time, FAH is preparing accreditation applications for the Translation Studies, Islamic History and Civilization (SPI), Arabic Language and Literature (BSA), and Library and Information Science (IP) study programs.

Meanwhile, the Vice Dean for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Cooperation, Prof. Usep Abdul Matin, presented several of FAH’s achievements. The faculty’s achievement in the Key Performance Indicators (IKU) reached 139.94 percent, with 58 MBKM partner institutions. Based on alumni distribution data for the 2023–2025 period, 63.3 percent of alumni are employed in private-sector companies. Nevertheless, the faculty still needs to expand its internship partnership network to provide more opportunities for students. The implementation of the tracer study has also reached 90 percent, as the process begins during the graduation clearance period.

In the areas of administration and finance, the Vice Dean for General Administration, Dr. Siti Amsariah, M.Ag., reported that several facility and infrastructure maintenance programs have been implemented. FAH has also allocated funding to support internationalization programs and improve the quality of its academic journals. To further enhance the quality of scholarly publications, FAH will organize a workshop on improving journal article quality for all lecturers in October.

The meeting also discussed efforts to strengthen FAH’s digital media ecosystem. The faculty’s media performance has been considered positive, although further efforts are needed to increase the number of subscribers and likes as part of FAH’s commitment to becoming a more informative and communicative unit within UIN Jakarta.

During the question-and-answer session, several academic issues were also discussed, including preparations for Entrepreneurship Classes, regulations governing online learning with a composition of 40 percent online and 60 percent offline instruction, as well as the legality and involvement of lecturers in academic assistance and practical activities conducted outside the classroom.

Through this faculty meeting, FAH UIN Jakarta reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving the quality of learning, strengthening academic and institutional performance, expanding international collaboration, and enhancing support for scholarly publications and lecturer competency development. The evaluations and achievements presented during the meeting are expected to serve as a shared foundation for realizing an FAH that is increasingly excellent, adaptive, and competitive.
