FAH Hosts Podcast Workshop: Building Broadcast Skills with OBS Studio
Tangerang Selatan, Berita Online FAH – The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University (UIN) Jakarta once again affirms its commitment to promoting digital literacy and student creativity through the Podcast Workshop Using OBS Studio, held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at the Main Conference Room, 2nd Floor, FAH Building.
The event, initiated by the CREATIFAH creative community, was open to both students and the general public. It featured Hendra, S.T., M.Pd., an experienced digital media educator, as the main speaker. He introduced OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) as a powerful, efficient, and user-friendly platform for producing podcasts and live streaming broadcasts.
The workshop began with an opening remark from Iwan Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.Si., Head of Administrative Affairs at FAH. In his speech, he encouraged students to not only excel academically but also to sharpen practical digital skills in line with current media trends.
“FAH students must be ready to become intelligent content creators. Podcasting, YouTube, and editing are no longer just entertainment—they are essential future skills,” he stated.
During the hands-on session, participants were guided through every step of the podcast production process—from installing OBS and configuring the camera to importing various media elements like bumpers, name slides, and advertisements to enrich the visual output.
Hendra emphasized the efficiency of OBS compared to traditional video editing workflows.
“With conventional editing, it can take days to produce layered content. With OBS, you can complete it in one day—or even go live instantly,” he explained.
The highlight of the workshop was a live podcast simulation in a mini studio setup. Participants took part in recording and viewing the results in real-time, discovering how seamlessly professional-quality content could be produced with accessible tools.
This workshop reflects FAH’s ongoing mission to integrate creativity and technological literacy, in line with the spirit of CREATIFAH—a platform for student media expression and digital production. FAH continues to shape future-ready humanists with a strong foundation in both culture and contemporary media skills.
