BPMP Banten Collaborates with FAH UIN Jakarta for the Development of Libraries and Educational Literacy
South Tangerang, FAH Online News – The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, through its Library Science Study Program, received an official visit from the Education Quality Assurance Agency (BPMP) of Banten Province on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) at the FAH Main Meeting Room. This meeting marked an initial step in exploring collaboration between BPMP and FAH in developing BPMP’s library, particularly in the areas of education, literacy, and internship placement for Library Science students.
The meeting was attended by the Dean of FAH, Vice Deans, Head and Secretary of the Library Science Study Program, lecturers, and students. Their presence enriched the discussion, with all participants actively contributing ideas and constructive input to support the development of BPMP’s library into a more innovative, adaptive, and community-relevant literacy center.
In his remarks, the Dean of FAH, Ade Abdul Hak, stated that FAH currently has five study programs, all of which have achieved excellent accreditation as well as international recognition. He emphasized that these achievements serve as strategic capital for expanding collaboration networks both nationally and internationally.
“FAH continues to develop partnerships through programs such as MBKM, community service, and internships. Community engagement and research are also our main focus,” he said.
He added that this meeting serves as a platform for sharing ideas and as an initial step toward formulating more concrete collaborations in the future.
A representative of BPMP Banten, Aria Ahmad Mangunwibowo, expressed appreciation for the warm welcome from FAH. He emphasized that BPMP, as an extension of the Ministry, plays a strategic role in improving the quality of education.
In his presentation, he highlighted several national education policy directions aligned with the government’s vision, including school revitalization, strengthening digitalization in education, improving literacy, numeracy, and character, as well as implementing meaningful and joyful learning approaches that are adaptive to the needs of modern students.
He also introduced the concept of the “7 Habits of Great Indonesian Children,” which include waking up early, praying, exercising, enjoying learning, eating nutritious food, maintaining positive connections, and sleeping early.
Additionally, the Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) was discussed as part of efforts to educate students about nutrition while building character from an early age.
During the discussion session, BPMP proposed opportunities for collaboration in library development with FAH. Through this partnership, BPMP’s library is expected to grow into an innovative, engaging, and collaborative literacy hub for the community.
“We aim to build a better library through gradual collaboration, including partnerships and synergy with FAH,” it was stated during the discussion.
The Head of the Library Science Study Program, Siti Maryam, added that the program continuously strengthens student competencies through MBKM implementation, including practical placements in various library institutions during the sixth semester. She noted that this meeting opens opportunities for students to undertake internships at BPMP Banten.
Meanwhile, a lecturer in Library Science, Amir Fadilah, presented several potential areas of collaboration, including library-based MBKM programs, strengthening alumni networks through community service, and development in library management, archives, and museums.
In the discussion session, the Dean also emphasized the importance of systematically preparing cooperation plans through short-term and long-term needs analysis to ensure effective, measurable, and sustainable implementation.
In response, the BPMP representative expressed commitment to developing a well-accredited library with professional management systems and supported by competent librarians, so it can contribute significantly to the development of modern literacy. He added that by learning from FAH, BPMP is optimistic about building a better library.
This meeting is expected to serve as an initial step in establishing strategic collaboration between FAH UIN Jakarta and BPMP Banten to promote a vibrant literacy culture and improve the quality of education in Indonesia.
